Job Vacancy at a Leading FMCG Company - Hays

Hays - Our client is a private operating company and one of the leading FMCG manufacturing groups in Sub Sahara Africa with (16) manufacturing plants operating in Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana and Kenya. In Nigeria their largest operation, they currently operate (9) manufacturing plants and are currently looking for a COO to lead their in country operations. The role will be based in Lagos/Nigeria  and reports through  to the CEO and with full responsibility for driving all business operations in country including manufacturing, distribution, warehousing and supply chain management.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
Lead change and transformation agenda across all functions
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
Manage relations with partners/vendors
Ensure Capex plans are carried out within set timelines and budget
Manage through proccesses
Establish polices that promote company culture and vision
Ensure automation remains a key business driver
Minimum Education
MBA or equivalent

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 15 years with a large company preferably in the FMCG industry
5 years + in a senior management position, Director level, ideally in manufacturing or Supply Chain Management
Able to demonstarte a good track record
Strong manaufacturing/Supply Chain background
Experience in International emerging markets preferred, ideally Africa

Strong inter-personal and communication skills
The position directly supervises the National Manufacturing Manager, National Distribution Manager, National Warehouse Manager and Supply Chain Manager
