STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION
Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
Coordinate all projects/design engineers and CAD technicians from planning stage through final construction.
Conduct audit, interviews and inspections of materials.
Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
Assess potential risks, materials and costs
Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
Review engineering design, specifications and standards.
Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
Handle over the resulting structures and services for use
Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials
Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required
Review job proposals including QC/QA Plans.
Ensure enforcement and close-out of observation/issues on project under supervision within stipulated time

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or Construction Management 
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Structural/Civil Engineering with advanced technical knowledge and training obtained from a reputable construction firm 
Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD,Civil 3D or similar
Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc
Project management and supervision skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A registered Structural Engineer (SE) and Professional Engineer (PE) license will be an added advantage.
Membership of a recognized professional engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and/or Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
MA in Structural/Civil Engineering a plus.
