NUTRITION DEPUTY PROGRAM MANAGER

DUTY STATION:     Maiduguri, Borno State

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Following the direction of the Nutrition Program Manager, the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) is responsible for running and supervising nutrition & health activities at all stages of the project management cycle. He/she is also responsible for accomplishing the program objectives and outcomes within the contextual constraints in coordination and synergy with other DPMs. The DPM ensures the Nutrition & Health team completes the defined activities while adhering to internal standards and contractual obligations.
The Nutrition Deputy Program Manager also has responsibilities regarding the capacity building of staff; humanitarian needs identification through needs assessments, monitoring of the evolving situation; context analysis to contribute to the development of future programs and internal coordination

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
Provide support to the Program Manager and the Nutrition spe...t to implement the program successfully.
To establish and supervise the grant’s nutrition (porridge mum components) of the cash transfer program.
To coordinate activities within ACF, SMOH and between partners in project area.
To ensure adequate reporting and documentation of all related nutrition activities.
Training and managing the program team in collaboration with Cash PM and RRE.
Contribute pro-actively to participate in HR management (including staff career plan development).
Contribute to the mission’s capitalization and to ACF communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree or Higher Diploma in Public Health Degree or equivalent in a field related to Nutrition & Health and or training/courses specific to Nutrition and Health in emergency contexts  + minimum 3 years of work experiences.

Experience in working with CMAM and IYCF Complementary feeding programming.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
 Experience in the International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) and Humanitarian context
Experience with Social Behavior Change Programming.

FOOD SECURITY AND LIVELIHOOD DEPUTY PROGRAM MANAGER
Duty Station:     Maiduguri, Borno State

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Deputy Program Manager will primarily be responsible for managing and implementing the SIDA funded Project in North-Eastern Nigeria, and will Emergency Assistance for Affected Populations in Borno state, North Eastern Nigeria, 2016-2017. Through early recovery CfW IGA and seed Voucer activities to vulnerable IDP and host community households in order to improve nutrition security and assist livelihoods recovery in Northern Nigeria.
Specific Objectives:
Provide support to the Emergency Program Manager (EPM) in implementing the FFP program.
Manage the field team within food security & livelihoods sub sector to ensure compliance, technical quality and coherence in all FSL interventions.
Ensure tracking and reporting of technical activities under food security & livelihood subsector.
Participate in regular internal and external coordination for the program at LGA level and at state level when required.
Identify program implementation modalities that enhance partnership & coordination with government official and local communities, internal integration within sectors and other programs (Nutrition, WASH, NFIs, etc.)
Assist the Multi-Sectorial PM in the development of project procurement and work plans of the FSL gardening component of the program.
Facilitate and support systematic monitoring and evaluation of activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in FSL related studies e.g. agro-economy, natural resource management, anthropology, etc.
Minimum two years’ work experience in humanitarian contexts, with at least 1 year in conflict/insecure contexts.

Previous experience with food security and livelihoods programming.
Three years relevant work experience
Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word)
Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
Fluency in English

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience managing cash based interventions (i.e. cash for work, cash transfers or cash vouchers)
Previous experience with ACF.
Experience implementing programming on behalf of donor (i.e. USAID, ECHO, DFID, CIDA) funded activities
Fluency in Hausa or Kanuri.
